That was the question in 1992, when San Diego-based rockers Stone Temple Pilots arrived with their ‘Core’ album, leading the second wave of grunge. The brutal lead single ‘Sex Type Thing’ introduced the band and vocal style of Scott Weiland. Sep 28, 2012.
The best thing that Stone Temple Pilots ever did was take the Butthole Surfers and Flaming Lips on tour. The year was 1993, the peak of grunge, and Weiland and the rest of STP had just broken into the mainstream, scoring hit singles with “Plush,” “Creep,” and “Sex Type Thing.” Dec 4, 2015.
