7.58pm The Weather report by Sonny “Psyknarph”Elgincolin (Florida) Sonny Psyk Elgincolin
8.00pm Hindi Ka Nag-iisa (You Are Not Alone) by Jay Fernandez (Jeddah UAE)
This track was supposed to be a theme for a non-profit organization. When Jay presented the raw track to them, they needed a more upbeat track. Not to be discouraged, Jay went on to finish this song, first in the key of D, and finding it a little bit dull on that key, he transposed it a full step higher and voila!
This is a very inspirational song for Jay and he never hesitates to share the message of this song with anyone whom he believes can take comfort in it. On the process of releasing this song, Jay met a fantastic musician who is very energetic, down to earth and willing to listen to anything you present to him for critique. Just so people would know, Jay never takes offense from criticism (both constructive and destructive) he’s gone past the ego thing a long time ago.
After Jay learned about what he’s going through, Jay made it his daily reminder for him that he is not alone, and Jay is barracking for him all the time. This one’s for you Master Kap (as Jay fondly calls him), Jyel Tagbo!
8.06pm Orange Nights by Jonah Agas Music (Marikina) feat JSR
Many thanks to Johann Luy Tanchango of Cre8MUSIC Records for sending the music!
Jonah Agas is from Marikina City in the Philippines. She is with Indie label Cre8 Music and she cretes music in lo-fi, indie-pop and synth-pop styles. If you listen carefully, you will hear the needle scratching the record. She hopes to make music that will serve as a time-machine for people so they can relive their memories and feelings whenever they want, in the hope that it will give people comfort and companionship.
8.11pm Everyday by Kareem C. Acdal ((Brisbane)
8.18pm Here With Me by Eli Rockj (Cagayan de Oro City)
Many thanks to John Paul Derequito of Eggmen Productions for sending us Eli Rock J’s music.
8.24pm New Girlfriend by Danny Doon DANNY DOON ROCKS (Gold Coast)
8.30pm Life by Jyel Tagbo (Pampanga)
Words, Arrangement, Music by JyEL Tagbo; Performed by Sensitivo feat. JyEL Tagbo; Mixed and Mastered by Angee Rozul; From the Album: Isa’t Kalahating Araw
Jyel Tagbo’s song delves into the inner turmoil and complexities of human emotions and experiences, highlighting the struggle between pain and the search for clarity. Spiritually, the song reflects a journey through the dark, twisted aspects of life, symbolized by distress, shame, and confusion. The recurring phrase “Shot in ma’ brain” signifies the overwhelming impact of these negative emotions and experiences on one’s psyche.
However, amidst the chaos, the song offers a glimpse of hope and redemption. The lines “Life is so sweet when you know… You could be somebody” and “Life is so precious… When you feel all your pain subsides” emphasize the transformative power of self-realization and healing. The mention of a “halo” and “show me the light” symbolizes a yearning for spiritual enlightenment and guidance.
Ultimately, the song encourages listeners to navigate through their struggles and find a path to inner peace and understanding, recognizing the preciousness of life and the importance of overcoming adversity.
8.37pm This too, Shall Pass by ZOE from Earth (Sunshine Coast)
Zoe self-produced/directed/edited visualiser, this track, doubling as the official lyric video and official music video for, This Too Shall Pass. Zoe recently moved to Sunshine Coast, Kabi Kabi country which you will mostly see in this video. The ancient fig trees stand tall as a symbol of all that stood before us and still stands, in contrast with the seemingly never-ending ‘digging’ that comes from the ‘needing’ that humanity has become complacent enacting. When the song says, “this endless obsession must end now, its time for a change” Zoe feel like she is the one taking on something that no-one wants to do. Often feels like, in certain situations, there comes a time when “someone’s gotta do it”, whether its at the micro or macro scale. Now is the time, and maybe music is the messenger. Zoe wants to remind us that we need to liberate ourselves, liberation from all fear, liberate all our siblings, human and animal. How can there be inner peace when others are suffering? So may we start first with finding the power inside of ourselves, to be liberated and create, create, create with every moment of every day we are given upon this beautiful Earth.
Zoe would like to thank Riana, of Open Hearts Mend for dressing us in these beautiful garments.
Aunty Kerri Douglas, Koori Art Designs, weaver of the earrings, and elder on Djaara country who welcomed us on to country as she relaunched herself as an artist.
Brenton Meynell of Barefoot Bands and Colin Wynne of Thirty Mill Studios for the sound engineering behind this track, and encouraging her artistry every step of the way.
And Eric Doriean who has stood by her through this entire record. Eric came into her life some time between having written three songs, and writing This Too Shall Pass. Eric saw, when few did, the vision embedded into all of Zoe’s songs and the vision at large, as something “more than music” and that through music, we could get to.
No matter what you believe about the days ahead, this record and this song in particular, are meant to show you that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. So, even in our darkest days, whatever you deem them to be, we know that it will all be okay. Nothing lasts, this too shall pass… life in all of its ephemeral beauty is sacred, and deserves to be protected.
8.44pm What About by Tituz Rex Mendez (Manila)
Aristotle “Titus Rex” Mendez sent me this song and his other music way back in 2013, just after the start of Say More Radio. Like Zoe’s music, Titus’ messages in his songs was always about caring for other people. Sadly, he died in 2018. This is my favourite song from his many compositions.
The song “What About” carries a deeply spiritual message about a profound love that transforms lives, bringing beauty, hope, and purpose. It speaks of a divine love that offers redemption, urging listeners to embrace this love and live their lives with compassion, righteousness, and readiness for a higher existence. The lyrics encourage self-reflection, spiritual growth, and the importance of preparing oneself for a future filled with peace and joy. It calls for living in harmony with this divine love, recognizing its power to renew and uplift, and inviting others to experience the serenity and fulfillment that comes from aligning with a greater spiritual truth.
