In the vibrant city of Cebu, Philippines, amidst the swaying palm trees and the rhythm of the waves, a reggae band emerged in the year 2000, captivating hearts with their soulful tunes and infectious energy – introducing the one and only, Junior Kilat.

This musical collective weaves together the soul-soothing genres of reggae, ska, and dub, creating a unique fusion that has left audiences entranced and grooving to their beats. Led by the charismatic and talented Errol “Budoy” Marabiles on vocals, Junior Kilat boasts a diverse lineup that brings together the finest musicians in the region.

In 2005, their meteoric rise to fame was cemented when they clinched the prestigious “Song Of The Year Award” in NU-107’s Rock Awards for their groundbreaking single, “Ako Si M16,” a powerful anthem that showcased their passion for music and social consciousness. This track was a stellar representation of their debut album, “Party Pipol Ur On Dub Tv,” which took the airwaves by storm.

Comprising of Tiano Evangelista on bass, Arciemon Zion Ybañez and Jad Dapat on guitars, Bangin Atienza on turntables, Gina Pestaño on keyboards, Cleofas Quijano on trombone, and Diana Freese on drums, the collective brilliance of Junior Kilat shines through each performance, leaving audiences spellbound with their infectious melodies and compelling lyrics.

Their journey of musical prowess continued with their sophomore album, “Buwad Suka Sili,” a vibrant collection of five tracks accompanied by two mesmerizing music videos and a behind-the-scenes peek in “The Making of Ako Si M16” video. This album solidified their position as true pioneers of their craft.

However, their artistic talents didn’t confine them to just music. Junior Kilat expanded their presence to the television screens, gracing the Cebu-based channel RCTV show, “Ismol Tym,” where their music gained an even wider audience, enchanting viewers with their magnetic performances.

But their reach didn’t stop there. Errol “Budoy” Marabiles, the frontman with an unmistakable voice, made a memorable appearance on the ABS-CBN production, “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition.” His time on the show led to the creation of two rub-a-dub songs – “Maligo Na Jam,” inspired by a poem he penned during his stay in the Pinoy Big Brother house, and “Budoy Ako,” the captivating Cebuano version of “Pinoy Ako.”
