Day 6: The Beginning.

A drive for a new sound emerges as four musicians stand lovingly to produce a debut which combines the intelligence of postmodern rock as well as their own longstanding influences in metal, death, post grunge and other genres.
Day Six is a band to be experienced, not just heard. Off-stage, the guys are constantly hacking over ideas on how to change and perfect their sound. On-stage, the experiment takes place, their presence always leaving the audience in wonder about what just happened.
The goal is as typical as any other band’s aim to take music to the next level. They do believe, however, that in order for their crash and grind formula to work, they have to work hard. Individually, they train themselves to concentrate more on their skills as musicians.
It all began in 2005, when a band known as Tabularaza lived their dream to make great music and perform. The band was fronted by Jason Fumagalli, with Robin Sellner on lead, Patrick Mackay on Bass and Eugene Fumagalli on drums. One year later and a major line-up change, the band changed their name to Profane Oath. This time with Eugene on vocals, Robin on lead guitars, Patrick on rhythm, newcomers Oliver Aguilar on Bass and Carlo Campilan on drums. Mostly performing cover songs from Slipknot and Mudvayne, Profane Oath played at Gadja ‘07, and the Outpost. A new drummer came into the scene. Kean Chua replaced Carlo Campilan after one year.
Never satisfied and always trying out new things, the band continued to work on redefining their sound. Now with Sting Espinoza on drums, the band hopes to further expand its fan base and touch those who might share the band’s life experiences. Focusing more on catchier melodies and earnest lyrics, the EP redefines the bands already distinct sound with MTV-generation sensibilities. With tracks like “Once Again”, “Alone” and “Hide” which are thick and heavy, these songs accommodate the band’s metallic crunch without relinquishing melodic ingenuity. Nostalgia-infused lyrics, and aggressive flows between fast and slow harmonies are highlighted in tracks such as “Watch Me Leaving”, “Shadows of Flames”, and “Home”.
There are great expectations that the band is going to be something massive and that they are set to rock the scene. This is something that the band knows. And they do know one other thing: Day Six is ready.
